UPDATE [5/24 @ 6 p.m.]: Although we still haven’t received a response from NYPD, a source did tell us an autopsy was scheduled for today. Additionally, there was no identification on the body. All of the information that we’ve posted has also been confirmed.
A dead body was spotted in Sheepshead Bay around 8 p.m. today, on the Manhattan Beach side near Exeter Street.
Helicopters, NYPD Harbor Unit, police cars and FDNY trucks and ambulances flooded the area. Flashing lights are seen along at least three blocks of Shore Boulevard. Vehicles have also been seen stationary on Emmons Avenue.
The condition of the body – and the person’s identity – is still unknown. We’ll update as more information becomes available.
