This comes to us from Senator Marty Golden:
I have had a great week hosting two successful Christmas Tree Lightings in the community! Hopefully you and your family made it out to celebrate the season with us. Unfortunately because of bad weather last night, we were forced to postpone the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony I had scheduled. The ceremony will instead take place next Wednesday, December 17th at 6:30 p.m.
I hope you can join us at McKinley Park (Fort Hamilton Parkway and Bay Ridge Parkway) to celebrate the magic that the Holiday Season has to offer. There will be caroling, hot chocolate and a special visit from Santa Claus so gather your family and join together with the community for a wonderful evening of joy and cheer!

Here is an excerpt of Senator Marty Golden’s letter inviting the Sheepshead Bay community to this week’s Christmas tree lightings:
Each year I host Christmas tree lightings to bring the community together in joy and togetherness so that we can all forget about the stresses of the season and focus on the good things in our lives. At these special events we gather to sing Christmas Carols, sip Hot Coco and welcome a very special visitor, Santa Claus! I hope you can join myself and the Bay Ridge Parks Task Force at one of these special events. Donations for Toys for Tots will be collected. I encourage you all to bring a new, unwrapped toy to make the holidays happy for a needy child.
