A Brighton Beach woman claims that her cell phone was stolen and then used to take nude photos and a sex video, the files of which were automatically sent to her using an online service.

The Daily News reports:

“It seemed like they were getting off after taking the phone,” said the shocked Victoria Brodsky, 39, of the treasure trove of images, which include the man and woman showing it all for the camera. “I would love it if they were caught.”

The married mother of two says she lost her Samsung Galaxy S3 and wallet to pickpockets during an August street fair and later discovered the raunchy pics uploaded to her Dropbox account linked to her pilfered phone.

Brodsky, who lives in Brighton Beach, had planned to forget about the month-old phone, but the sight of the brazen couple’s shameless frolicking makes her want justice.

“It’s one thing to steal, but they’re celebrating,” said Brodsky of the 26 pictures and one pornographic video that showed up in her account between August and September.

Brodsky said she was at the Brighton Beach Jubilee on August 25 when her wallet and cell phone went missing from her purse.

She called the cops to report the theft. Police, though, said she only reported the cell phone as lost, a point Brodksy disputes, saying that the cops pushed her to classify it as lost since she didn’t see anyone take it.

Her phone was synced to her Dropbox account, an online file service to which photos and video from cell phones automatically upload. The photos and video began hitting her Dropbox account a week after the alleged theft.

When she saw them, she wasn’t impressed.

“Sex looks very boring in their house,” she told the News.

Did she check the meta-data for a gps location?

My phone never leaves gps meta-data. I don’t think the option to store it is on by default, or that people normally turn it on.

Nice. Nothing like some good ol’ internet justice. Hope someone recognizes these idiots. I’d say Victoria should totally share all of the pictures and videos with the world, but even the satisfaction of shaming them wouldn’t be enough to compensate for having to sit through this level of ugly sex.

As for cops pushing people to reclassify reports – I have personally experienced this more than once with our fine officers from the 61st precinct. They tried convincing my father that his briefcase was “lost” instead of stolen because he could not identify who the thief was. When my parked car was hit by a driver who fled the scene, the officers told me that there is no need to include the partial plate, make, and model of the car that hit me (my neighbor witnessed it happen and took down as much information as he could) in the report because “we can’t do anything with only a partial plate anyway”. As I walked away I heard him tell his partner, who tried writing down the partial plate, that it wasn’t worth the additional paperwork.

Because after all, who does any real police work anymore? Find the owner of a car who caused thousands of dollars in damage, having a MAKE, MODEL, AND PARTIAL PLATE? Nah, too much work.

Now we know why crime statistics have dropped so dramatically under Ray Kelly.

I once called with the license plate of a hit and run I witnessed. (only a car was damaged.) They refused to take the information on the phone. They told me I had to make a trip to the precinct to report the info in person. If they thought I was just trying to get an innocent person in trouble and didn’t trust info received on the phone, they could have offered to stop by my house to get the info. Why should it cost me time and money to be a good citizen?

If you witnessed a crime you should have followed through and went into the precinct. You did half a job just like you are accusing the precinct of doing…shame on you!

Many years ago, in the 70s, a friend and I witnessed, in Sea Breeze Park, a young guy beat up an old man pretty badly. We went to the 60 precinct to report it. We knew who the kid was, ,by name, and we knew the friends of his that were just watching. To our surprise, the guy in the 60 told us we had to go back there and find the policeman on the beat and report it to him. Where? Who knows? We looked for a couple of minutes and gave up. If the police didn’t care, why should I.
Should I have stopped the beating I witnessed? Sure, at night, my friend and I against 10 kids. No way. I did what I thought I could. Very disappointing.

Exactly. I work across the street from the 61st and we got robbed (about $150 worth. And this guy keeps coming back). Anyways we got a perfect picture of his face and the incident and called the cops. They came about an hour later and asked where the guy was an said we should have apprehended him. And since we didn’t they couldn’t do anything. To protect and serve my ass. The 61 sucks

To protect and serve themselves. are you people naïve or just stupid. Have no doubt they will pull over motorist to give out tickets. They will lie and harass you in order to extort money “legal” way. They only help themselves. I stopped relying on pigs help when last time I had bad experience with them…I had more help from regular people then pigs….

My experience is only with the 61st and yes, they do seem to go out of their way not to help. Example: there was once an overnight burglary in my store and the neighbor’s security camera got good video of the perp standing outside. He gave few a few of the best frames as stills. After waiting 2 hours on a slow weekday evening, the cop said bring me the whole video and maybe I’ll talk to you. This is the worst pct ever.

I personally witness how 2 bad guys were removing headlights from Acura TL in my neighborhood during summer time around 1am in the morning I was coming back from my part time job where I work as a sys admin in Data center at 111 8th ave, NY NY I spooked them and they only removed one headlight when I gave them chase that’s when we drove by police station. In which case I said let me go inside and give detail description of the car so the lazy crooks aka cops can put some effort to track them down. I was willing to take them back to where incident took place they showed no interest but I did hear appreciation from a good person who actually lives in my warbasse neighborhood, he said at least I saved him a few hundred dollars not buying second headlight …I don’t rely on crooks aka cops…I have more trust in everyday people

I can one up you. I had a drug addict break my window trying to get into my house to rob it, all on video. The drug addict had a note fall from his coat with his writing and fingerprints on it and we had a strong suspicion of what his name – They refused to even look at the video, would not investigate anything and the detectives closed the case..

I have neighbors who reported an Oxytonin ring selling to high school kids, gave them the license plates of the suppliers – the dealers were tipped off and moved the supplying further from the drug house. Nothing else happened.

Another time my car was broken into in the Waldbaums Parking lot right under a security camera – They REFUSED TO LOOK AT THE VIDEO.

Neighbors have their cars broken into every week and won’t even bother with the police after catching the thieves in the act and calling 911 with their descriptions and their license plate numbers with ZERO RESPONSE from the police.

Another time a neighbor called 911 because there were gang members with what looked like sawed-off shotguns in their coats casing houses in Manhattan Beach – the police never even bothered to show up.

A week before the Mad Maks rampage, I had a run in with him. He tried to get me to open my car window, when I refused he jumped into his car and cut me off, boxing me in – I thought to call 911 but then realized from my previous experiences that they 1) would not respond in under 2 hours, and 2) they would do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If only “Our” Precinct was not a disability pension stop over and worked for us, I would have called and they would have taken a Homicidal Sociopath off the streets before he murdered four people, robbed two other and nearly slashed a fifth to death as still more NYPD hid in a conductors booth.

Always remember what they did to John Hockenjos……

Crime is epidemic in this precinct, but since the cops won’t respond, don’t take reports or force victims to reclassify crimes – the Compstat reports show the fables and myths that they give to the reporters.

Smith and Wesson now insures my property and safety, much more effective than 911. My 45 is far more legal than the illegal aliens living next door. God Bless the Second Amendment and fuck the police

I really felt sick to my stomach when pigs put an innocent person in jail for no reason…I hate cops

Always remember what they did to John Hockenjos……

you are absolute right.. I am not sure why Ned bothers to post that lame Compstat reports

Crime is epidemic in this precinct, but since the cops won’t respond, don’t take reports or force victims to reclassify crimes – the Compstat reports show the fables and myths that they give to the reporters.

1 DAY IN JAIL! For nearly causing an innocent man 7 YEARS in Prison- and four other “officers” were on that tape witnessing the railroading – not one prosecution was brought against them. Five cops participated in the framing of an innocent and only one gets a single day in jail for it.

Years ago I knew a drug dealer who sold massive amounts of “Masking Agents” to the cops in these precincts, so they get Roid out and pop Vicodin and other illegal substances but still test “clean” when they were urine tested. They can test the hair for substance abuse now.. but it was amazing and explains how so many roided out cops were able to stay without being caught.

Ha!. That’s a great line: “Sex looks very boring in their house.”

They aren’t exactly model-looking material either. The guy looks like the back of my balls. The couple should be charged not with theft, but with ugliness – a threat to the environment.

  • Nick the Rat

where’s the nsa to stop these non stories from occurring?

  • http://www.mybrooklyn.com/ MyBrooklyn

Stupid naïve people rely on cops….police are here to look out for their own financial gain and harass people. Keep calling these savages heroes and thank them for their service every time their harass you and steal from you. Did you guys hear how our NYPD heroes scheme 9/11 funds and defrauded disability system in order to benefit themselves….there are many more it just never makes it to the news. So before we try impose and punish people, let them all concentrate on their disgusting behavior. Even when they do get caught they still get to keep their very nice pension, benefits and other perks that you morons don’t have.

  • Heroic61

When you call the 61st, tell them you made your are on the “captain’s plan” and made your weekly “donation” to the precinct – before you tell them of any crimes that you are reporting.

  • J.M.H.

Unfortunately unless you say you are reporting their response to the media , the local politician or get a lawyer involved not much will happen

  • anon

You people complaining about the cops are watching way too much tv cop dramas. Cops don’t sit around waiting for a note that droped out of a junkies pocket while he is robbing the place so they can trace fingerprints! Get a life or join the auxiliary so you can see what happens for real not in your cop job fantasy world.

    • theOnewitReason

The problem lies in the saying “protect and serve” and the new and ‘improved” saying… give tickets and harass (ask questions later)… they will take advantage of any and all opportunities to make an arrest or write a ticket.. I can say numerous personal stories but i would be wasting my time. If they think you are guilty, they will hit first and ask questions later and then transfer out the 61st after they get their promotion and then go on to shit on another neighborhood. Every time someone need them, they are never around..and i’m sure many would agree. about 3-4 years ago i was harrassed by 3 punks who attempted to rob me

  • ed

My brother was a cop for a while, and this is regular practice in the pcts. Guy comes in after getting beat up and robbed, they only report the robbery; such as the case of the phone, where they reported a lost phone instead of a stolen phone — because like someone else mentioned, it shows that crime rates went down, and makes it look like the cops are doing a good job (which, they are, ofc); but it’s all just cosmetics.

  • BenderBendingRodriguez

I think the biggest question on everyone’s minds…. where’s the dropbox, and how do we access it? LOL

Don’t act like some of you aren’t into that.
