I have been holding onto these photos for a year and a half, trying to figure out what to do with them (photo essay? post on Lundy’s? Morning Mugs?).  During a period when we were running short on Morning Mug photos, a photographer sent us four photos she took of Lundy’s back in 1988 with her Nikon 2000.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will post the remaining images.

Photo by Lizi, who also goes by Anne

Morning Mug is our daily showcase of photographs from our readers. If you have a photograph that you’d like to see featured, send them to photos@sheepsheadbites.com.

Poignant shots! Ah, the 1970′s and 1980′s and all that grime, and supposed crime. Yet, back in those days, we never needed partitions in buses to keep the operators from being assaulted, signs that said striking a transit worker is punishable as a felony, and public service announcements from the FDNY asking drivers to please yield to emergency vehicles! And the popular music was still melodic, women weren’t degraded in the lyrics, and to some observers, the babes on Kings Highway, 86th Street, and Avenue U, were a lot hotter! Oh, and there were many more folks around who spoke with Brooklyn accents! Not, that many things are much better today, which they are, but let’s keep things in perspective, as we all enjoy in the spirit of the holiday, and wish a Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good day!!!
