Coney Island Hospital is deploying its dietitians and other medical professionals to help educate the community on healthy eating. As obesity continues to plague Americans, the hospital is hoping to help stem the tide and reduce rates of diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases by preventing them before they happen.

Come check it out tomorrow evening, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium on the second floor. There will be giveaways and refreshments, but we’re pretty sure no Twinkies.

I learned the hard way to eat healthy. And it doesn’t necessarily have to do with weight either. Eat better people, believe me.

the problem is, people are used to comfort food, If they can make it at home in less then 10minutes it’s comforting…… A lot of people choose to eat out a lot as well, where they spend money and a piece of life to put trust into other people to serve them food…. If people stopped eating out and started making their own food i’m sure the #’s would fall.

Eating out doesn’t preclude you from being healthy. Order a salad instead of fries. Get (seltzer) water instead of soda. Get it grilled instead of fried.

It’s not as good as home cooked stuff, but it certainly beats the alternative.

Do you know the difference between conventionally grown Vegetables and Fruits VS Organically grown Veggies and fruits?

Don’t sugar coat what to switch from and to, Distilled Water is the way to go. If anyone wants better knowledge of what to eat to lose weight i can suggest, Engine 2, and China study.

If i can do it, anyone can do it. Problem is a lot of people want it the easy way by taking a pill and losing weight. Sorry, there’s no such thing. Eat clean food, Drink lots of clean water, and maybe just maybe your body will react to it and the weight will flow off.

I’m the living experiment. I gained weight purposely, and now i’m losing weight to show to people who are obese that IT CAN BE DONE.

You know 1 thing i don’t miss, when your tying your shoes and you don’t gasp for air. :D

Putting your trust into a Hospital (which gets paid only when sick people arrive) is really hard…. I mean a different place would have been more believable….

The seminar is going to be held in the hospital which makes money from the sick……..

      that’s what i meant.

Is the insinuation here that a hospital will give you bad info because they want you to get sick because you’ll then go there and they make money? That’s ridiculous. And it’s not just sick people who go to a hospital – CI Hospital, like all hospitals, has a huge range of preventative care practitioners. People should be going to the doctor to prevent getting sick, not just when they are sick. On top of that, CIH is a city hospital – it’s not a business. It’s entire mission is to keep people healthy, not to make a buck, which is why it’s subsidized.

You know, Shadow, I know and like you and consider you a friend. But some of the stuff you have to say regarding health is not only nuts, but dangerous.

And, by the way, some studies have suggested that it’s more profitable for the medical industry for you to live longer, as you’ll need more services as you age, as opposed to getting sick and dying young, from which they only profit in the short term. That’s a dumb argument as well, but I offer it to show that the pendulum swings both ways.

            It’s probably the Vaccine talking..

When your ready to unbrainwash yourself invite me for dinner and we’ll discuss :)

For the record, the less you see the doctor the better, because doctors don’t profit from healthy patients .

Thanks for the last comment. :) I think the same.

It’s only dangerous if you let it be.
