    I’ve been around the neighborhood long enough to have seen that pier burnt down at least twice, and it came back. I’m sure it will be back again.

    I was told today by a parks dept employee at the pier that the cement blocks that held the pilings that supported the deck of the pier shifted during the storm. So the pier is tilting as you can see in the photo I took today. The damage has to be assessed but that is the situation.

          TYVM, Doesn’t have the same timeless love in the air that your Mug pic does. You caught everything….depth from the clouds and keeping it in the moment with the gulls.

      so the cement blocks that hold up the pier were damaged BUT the cement blanket that will supposedly protect the jamaica bay gas pipeline is safe from Sandy type storms? hmmmmm
