OK, you’ve all had a chance to read Ned’s take on this year’s A Taste of Sheepshead Bay, but now we want to hear from you.

  • Did you have a good time?
  • What worked? What didn’t?
  • What do you want to change? What should we keep as is?
  • Who do you want to see at A Taste Of next year? What restaurant, candy maker, baker, or food monger is missing?
  • Did you enjoy the raffles? Did you buy additional raffle tickets? Were there too many prizes? Too little? Did you win?
  • Should we move A Taste Of to the spring? Should we do it twice a year?

Please tell us of any other ideas you have for next year’s events.

And please, please, frequent the food purveyors that made the event so memorable. Without them, Sheepshead Bay might just be another boring, hipster filled, Williamsburgh.

Don’t mess with perfection! I enjoyed it so much last year that I brought other people this year. Definitely bought extra raffles! Always happy to support you! The only thing you might do different is reserve tables for people who pay in advance. People were fighting over seats! Can’t wait for next year!

    need to get set seating…
keep it as is- it was amazing

kinda dull for me. didnt win anything, and didnt get to donate a print of a photo of mine.

DO IT TWICE A YEAR !!!!!!!!!!! HELL DO IT 4 TIMES A YEAR!

my one and only frustration was with getting the tickets ahead of time. I had hoped that the vendor offered several payment options, such as using your CC directly, as opposed to going through paypal.

Great time,no changes necessary, except maybe a bigger place!

I had a great time! I’m one of the Culinary students from Kingsborough Community College who made the Crepes. I will definitely come back to represent my school, feed more guests and try out some more food!

Thanks for coming Carey. I’m glad you and Kingsborough could make it. Hopefully we’ll see you working one of the restaurant tables next year!

It was my first year attending and I had a great time! All the vendors were very nice and the food variety was awesome. I’d definitely attend again! Twice a year would be phenomenal! The few things is change is a. More seating b. more garbage cans c. More water available

Finding a glass of water was near impossible. There was one garbage can in the place… One that I found anyway After circling the venue a few times.

Other than that.. It was a blast!

Since its an open thread, I would like to mention the passing of one of pro football’s greats, and quite a character, Alex Karras. One of the great defensive linemen ever. For those of you not into football, he’s also the guy who knocked out the horse in Blazing Saddles.

Right, he was Mongo in Blazing Saddles – one of the best movies ever! He was also the adoptive father on Webster. I really liked him. RIP Alex.

Sounds like everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the food. Can’t afford these luxuries right now – still looking for a job. Hopefully next year I will get to go.
