We’re only 10 days away from A Taste of Sheepshead Bay 2012, hailed by some as “the biggest tasting this side of the East River.”

Sponsored by Il Fornetto, A Taste of Sheepshead Bay features favorite dishes from 20 local restaurants, giving neighbors, foodies and city media a place to try out the best foodstuffs of Sheepshead Bay on Thursday, October 11 at 7 p.m in the Baron DeKalb Knights of Columbus (3000 Emmons Avenue).

    Who’s bringing tupperware?

    • http://www.sheepsheadbites.com/ Ned Berke

No tupperware. You will be asked to leave (without refund) if caught packing food up in tupperware, ziplock bags or anything else.

Last year people were salvaging discarded aluminum serving trays to take home leftovers. It was highly entertaining!

I will ask the venue if they can provide takeout containers AT THE END OF THE EVENT ONLY, but until I’ve spoken to him I can’t promise anything.

That’s actually a very good idea. If anything he should sell them for .25 cents each so he can recoup the cost.

I recall a prior article about improvements/ideas/suggestions for the upcoming event.
http://www.sheepsheadbites.com/2012/06/the-bite-help-us-improve-a-taste-of-sheepshead-bay/Were any of the suggestions put in place?

    • MrArtTuro

that link was supposed to go to an article in which SB asked for suggestions for this upcoming events.

    • MrArtTuro

SO? Ned? any answer? Were any suggestions adopted?

      • http://www.sheepsheadbites.com/ Ned Berke

Gosh. You’re bossy. To answer your question, we’ve deleted the torrential rain as you’ve requested. Or at least we hope we have.

As for the other suggestions, no, we could not adopt them this year. We actually had grand plans to act on several of them – and a few of our own and feedback from the restaurants – but we determined our best course of action for this year, our second, is to repeat it how we did last year, but hammer out all the unseen routines to make sure it could go as smoothly as possible. With that perfected (and, already, this year is going much more smoothly), we will then build on it for next year.

Gotta walk before you can run, right?

Your suggestions didn’t go to waste, though. We will definitely be looking to them as we develop our plans in the future.
