Local Trackwork-Related Street Closures To End This Weekend

Track replacement along the Brighton line within our coverage area wraps up this weekend, meaning it’s the last weekend in which underpasses at Avenue Y, Avenue Z and elsewhere between East 15th Street and East 16th Street will be closed due to the work.

Crews will be on Avenue Y only this weekend for the last time (at least in relation to this project), and then they will move up to Avenue J and Avenue K, an MTA spokesperson told Sheepshead Bites.

There will be no parking on Avenue Y between East 15th Street and East 16th Street, beginning at 4:00 p.m. today until 6:00 a.m. Monday.

    related topic…was there a wildcat job action tonight on the B3 bus line. ?  At 7.30 pm service in both directions stopped…we at east 16 and avenue U were standing around for a little over 1/2 hour.  At about 8.06 the west bound buses started to show up, as if they all departed E 71 street at once.  A few minutes later, east bound buses were rolling aqain, stacked up in pairs. AND, I spotted at least three “Out of service” buses at that time.   It is as if the drivers all ended their runs in B’hurst and M’Basin and decided to skip the next half hour. can you Bite bus people check this out?
