A pink dress on Voorhies Avenue, as depicted by artist Nikira. Image source: skine.art

We haven’t posted anything about our local watercolor wonder and moleskin mayven, artist Nikira, since early 2010. It’s high time that change.

Nikira — real name: Irina Chtypel — illustrated, and posted on skine.art an arresting still life of a sexy, pink cocktail dress draped on a garment stand outside of the haute couture shop Lace & Satin, located at 1719 Voorhies Avenue just off Sheepshead Bay Road. The dress ‘pops’ against an otherwise monotonous backdrop.

A few words from Nikira on skine.art about her creation:

Dress. Brooklyn, Sheepshead bay. It was striking and unexpected to see that vulnerable feminine dress on the winter street. I used ink and few Kuretake brush pens. Scanner didn’t pick up variety of blue.

You can see more of Nikira’s amazing work here, here, and here.
