There is going to be beef on this block. Roast beef. And maybe corned beef. Probably pastrami, too.

Randazzo’s Clam Bar (2023 Emmons Avenue) is opening up a sandwich shop on Sheepshead Bay Road between East 15th Street and East 16th Street, putting the shop, set to open up this month, within a five block radius of several key sandwich places in the area.

“People will be able to get a quick bite to eat [at our sandwich shop], but it’s still going to be high quality because the products are going to come from Randazzo’s,” said Joey Randazzo in the Courier’s Life Brooklyn Daily article.

The famous seafood restaurant is hoping to target the commuters along Sheepshead Bay Road.

“There’s a lot of people coming and going [along Sheepshead Bay Road],” said Randazzo. “We think it’s a great location.”

Sheepshead Bay already has Jimmy’s Famous Heroes, Bassett Deli & CaterersRoll-N-Roaster and Brennan and Carr, but Randazzo sees it differently.

“There’s no place to get a good hero in Sheepshead Bay,” he said.

Even with Randazzo’s expansion and the owner’s fighting words, some in the community are willing to accept the challenge.

“As long as the quality remains the same, our customers will keep coming here,” said Frank D’Antonio, a manager of the Bassett Deli.

Love Bassett’s, but they have a totally different customer base than Randazzo’s would be targeting. Can’t wait to see what they offer.

  • MBboy

Bassett’s is the best.  Great fresh roast turkey, pork tenderloin and roast beef.  The only problem is the schlep to Avenue X.

Can’t wait I will check it out when they open.  Hope they open by the end of the month.

““There’s no place to get a good hero in Sheepshead Bay,” he said.” Amen brother.
Mr Randazzo let me tell you a few three things: prosciutto, fresh mozzarella (as we say the mootz), roasted red peppers with little balsamic on Italian bread. Also small jar of broccoli rabe. Also, roasted turkey with brie and thin slice of green sour apple on baguette ( real one). And finally roast beef with horseradish spread (note “spread” part” with arugula and thin ripe tomato (note “ripe” and “thin”) on roll.
If you need full menu let me know. I have it all in my head.

    • Utl

Not that I care about their family, I dont know anything about them. But I curious why is matters. You can critique their food, that’s fair. But what else could be so important.

If you compare these with Subway– > Try eating your own pipes
      They should satisfy you.

I’m a big fan of G&S Pork Store. They make excellent sandwiches!!!

Since Tre Fratelli closed, nothing of that ilk in the area. Maybe (doubtful) but
maybe, they can pull it off.  Can’t really see how, and I know I’m one of the few, but I really don’t care for their food as is. But still, it’s better then another sushi joint.

i think this is an awesome idea. not to mention it would be so convenient… for me at least. and not for nothing, the local sandwich joints around town have fell off lately especially since tre fratelli closed. i find myself traveling to bay ridge about 4 times a month for a sandwich with good bread, good imported cold cuts and fresh muttz.

The Randazzo’s have some pair saying that you can’t get a good hero in the neighborhood,  They better stop with the God complex before they go the way of Chipp.  There are plenty of good places to buy good/great heroes and regular sandwiches.  The corner stores make some of the best  heroes in the neighborhood, followed by Subway (I love subways!), Jimmys, Bassets.

    • gene

corner stores and subways?!?!? you are kidding right ?

    • Bdhsjsn

the randazzos are god, stop sucking dick for free &start chargin so u could have the pleasure to eat at randazzos. Lmao corner stores make good sandwiches hahah BUM
