Neck Road’s Beer Saloon Is Closed!

Oh, woe is me, woe is me! I hate it when a quiet bar with a long beer list goes kaput. But that’s what seems to have happened over at Beer Saloon (1188 Gravesend Neck Road), which had its gates down Sunday afternoon and a “For Rent” sign in the window.

R.I.P. Beer Saloon, home of the impromptu Russian Dolls premiere party and, uh, “pee” soup.

    This place was awesome. They had amazing sausage plates and a great selection of tasty brews. DAMN IT ALL TO HELL.

    This is soooo upsetting. No more bar across the street from my house. Ugh!! Maybe they lost money on all the free beer and shots they were giving me…this really sucks because their food, especially the mussels were so good. :( And they showed soccer!

      It’ll be a bar again. It has a long history of having a bar there. 50 years ago there was a bar there. So worry not.

        I have lived here for 28 years and when I was a kid it was Valleys. Then it became a Russian market of sorts that didn’t last. Then Shadows, then this. Hopefully it will be a decent one like Beer Saloon was.

    Never been there, but I am guessing that Anyway Cafe was taking most of the business, which I am guessing wasn’t much in this quite neighborhood.

      Actually I usually see a fare amount of people outside of Anyway (smoking). Also, I don’t think that is the case. They have two different kinds of environment.

    i live down the block from this store, and been living there for almost 12 years… almost every year or so (probably more time flies so fast) another store opens up, this is a bad luck location..

    get away! lol no joke
