Notify NYC has issued the following alert:

Notification issued 10/29/11 at 2:45 PM. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for NYC until 2:00 AM tomorrow morning. MTA customers should anticipate possible disruptions to subway, rail, and bus service. For specific information, please visit www.mta.info.

        Ned had no idea of what it was like in the good old days of journalism when the editor was on the job 24 hours a day, merely for the love of it. Sleep was for lesser people like columnists and sportswriters. The scent of a good story was all one needed, it was both food and drink for the journalist of yore.

        Besides,a weekend edition would keep some of the readers of this blog out of trouble. Idle minds and all that.

          I’ve heard about those days. I also heard editors got paid decent salaries and the adoring public paid – as they should – for content.

          And if none of you ever got into any trouble, I’d never have anything to write about.

            OKay, I agree. Everyone should send you $3.65 for a year’s worth of Shepshead Bites. Because back in those days the newspapers cost a penny.
