Open Thread Mondays: Labor Day 2011

25

Sheepshead Bites wishes everyone a  happy, healthy Labor Day. We’re going to take it easy ourselves and catch up on some behind-the-scenes work. We hope you use the day to get some rest or do whatever it is you enjoy doing.

Here’s an open thread to keep you busy. And, as always, if any breaking news comes up we’ll be on it.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the day.

  1. NO COMMENTS for a “sponsored” post??? WTF. I call BS. What is the diff? Why don’t they take out an Ad?

  2. Wait, i don’t understand your question :(

Do you mean the Clean water over Treated? or the Tap water over Treated?

  3. How can a person tell when it stinks of being over treated with chemicals. There are days a person can SEE the particles floating in a clear glass.
We are not paying high water taxes, we are paying high chemical treatment taxes.

  4. this includes, Every Plastic bottled water….

The only semi cleanest one is Aquafina, has a TDS rating of 003ppm…. however the Plastic they bottle that shit in is HAZARDOUS…

Poland spring is 020ppm,   tap water is 035ppm

Anything above 010ppm is considered Dirty :)

  5. I am confusing McSorley’s with a place that used to sell brisket sandwiches near the American Exchange. I know I have been there, just don’t remember the atmosphere.

  6. And I have the second round. Any takers for a third? Buy a beer and they will come? Heavy hitters, “big debaters”, and trolls are welcome to join.

  7. Looks like it’s just you and me so far. I got the first round.

I have a gallery opening in the city 6-ish, so I’ll probably get to D.B.
    ’round 8:30….9.

  8. I was just wondering when the Guider Ave. reconstruction was going to be finished?  It was scheduled for Aug., 2011!  I guess another late project…

  9. I would like to know why the concession at Manhattan Beach never reopened after the hurricane? Did they sustain any damage? Don’t they have to keep it open in order to operate the parking lot which was open and collecting revenue?

  10. I suggest a monthly get-together for all the Sheepshead Bites folks at a local watering hole.

Draft Barn on Dooley has lots of room, good ambience and great beer!

I did this for years with a group of friends at McSorley’s –

    we called it Third Thursdays.

    Thursday, September 15th – Draft Barn – Dooley Street – who’s in?
