A T-Mobile store is opening at 1507 Sheepshead Bay Road, and employees were there today putting the finishing touches on the storefront. The Ameritel-operated exclusive T-Mobile dealer plans to open on Tuesday, April 12, if not sooner, they told Sheepshead Bites.

Ameritel operates mobile phone retailers all over the globe, including several others in Southern Brooklyn.

The opening apparently put additional stress on the Boost Mobile vendor next door, at 1505 Sheepshead Bay Road. Owner Craig Shulman learned of the opening in February, and said he had words with the landlord, who owns both properties. He decided to close his shop on April 1.

Yes They did. just need to wait a year before anything really happens.

No, they didnt. They made an agreement to buy Tmobile, pending government approval. The deal isnt set to close for another year. So the short answer to the question is NO……..not yet.

But, the government WILL blindly approve it. Im starting to think that splitting the telecoms in the 80′s was all just a big scam to help them make more money after de-reg in the 90′s.

Major acquisitions between phone companies must be approved by the FCC. The FCC will probably approve this by the end of the year. Sprint will probably die or get bought up by Verizon in a few years. Hooray for less choices!

Yes it did, but they remain under T-Mobile for a bit still.

Waiting for a pharmacy/bridal shop/cell store! That way soon-to-be-brides can get drugged up, talking about their new dresses as they get fitted! I’d add a sushi shop, but do you really want them eating around the dresses?
