Map: The Extent Of The Pollution

Above is a map from the District Attorney’s office showing the reach of the sewage from leaking pipes along Knapp Street and Harkness Avenue.

The authorities used green dye to track the source of the leak and its reach.

Eight people and four businesses – including TGI Fridays and United Artists theater – were charged yesterday for allowing the abuse to go on since at least 2003.

    Does anyone else smell sewer gas in the 18th St and Ave U area? There are times (only very early in the morning) that the smell is bad. I complained to the EPA but all they did was to look in the manhole with a flashlight. They were there less than 60 seconds and left. I would like to hear if anyone else in the neighborhood is having this problem.

    Eight people charged for spilling a few barrels of oil into the bay and yet no one arrested for the gulf oil spill. Doesn’t make any sense to me.

      Ohhhhh BP has sooo much money they can buy out the cops if they wanted, so they are kinda Untouchable…. Also the OCEAN doesn’t belong to anyone… Except mother nature that is.

        Should have watched Jesse Ventura’s “Conspiracy Theory” last night. Of the many things uncovered was the fact that prior to becoming Obama’s Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, was given a $500 million grant by BP. His personally appointed under Secretary is Steven Koonin. Steven E. Koonin has served as chief scientist of BP, the world’s second largest independent oil company, since 2004 until his appointment. BP has infiltrated our government and it’s policies. Is it any wonder that they will get little more than a slap on the wrist?
