Five days after the Boxing Day Blizzard dumped two feet of snow on Sheepshead Bay, numerous side streets in Southern Brooklyn communities still have not seen a plow.

My street – photographed today above, as well as in the photo comparison to Mayor Bloomberg’s block – has seen the snow level off and compacted as numerous cars made the attempt down the road since the snowfall. Some vehicles are still getting stuck – we witnessed one as recently as late last night – but most get down the icy path at a cautious 5-or-so miles-per-hour.

With more vehicles on the road today and a nice 40+ degree weather forecast, it looks like nature and wear will do would the city couldn’t.

Not sure if it helped but I called the City 311 hotline and went on the SDNY website to complain about snow removal on Tuesday afternoon and heard the first plow come by Tuesday night (I thought I was dreaming when I saw it). Next day we had another plow come by and an excavator here cleaning up. I just wish the SDNY would have more common sense when plowing and not re-block someones driveway. I spent 2 hours cleaning the first time and 2 hours cleaning again.

Squeaky clean here on E 26th through E 29th (at least between Shore Pkwy and Ave. Y).

West St. is finally clear enough we see asphalt, but all vehicles that were parked on the right are still plowed in, and a few of us were shoveling for at least two or three hours this morning and it seems like we haven’t really done much to the great wall of china the snow plows created in front of our vehicles. Hope the weather cooperates and temperatures stay warm enough to melt that snow, and hopefully they’ll extend alternate side suspensions a few more days…

I suggest a substitution of the last word of the article for “wouldn’t.”

i am sorry.. your picture is WRONG. your street must have been paved. The Mayor did go on TV and say all streets in the City have been paved at least once. You must be mistaken about this. You did not see what you saw.

That bus driver should have been dragged out of his seat and arrested! I hope they investigate that one.

By 3 PM today, I saw the road clear again. I’m surprise it took so long. Is Sheepshead Bay not a rich neighborhood anymore?

Not on Bloomies level of thinking. Maybe he wants to force the hard working folk out of Brooklyn. Imagine a new borough called Bloomlyn. Developed to be a mini Manhattan.

Something I do not understand… Perhaps someone has an explanation…
Thursday afternoon a plow finally came down Beaumont St., in Manhattan Beach.
The plow itself made sure NOT to clean the snow off, but made sure to leave at least
6 to 8 inches of snow on the street. When it completed about 80% of the one street,
they lifted the plow completely, and did not finish the balance for the street at all.
Finally, just before midnight on New Years eve, they finally plowed the street.

I do love the waltzing around the troupe of snowplows did on Emmons Avenue yesterday

The tune featured in this above video was in my head all the time while filming this.
