NYPD Looking For Suspect In Parking Space Stabbing

Police are on the hunt for a man suspected of a stabbing over a parking spot in Brighton Beach last week.

The 48-year-old victim, Vladimir Reyfman, was sitting in his pickup truck on the corner of Brighton 11th Street and Brighton Beach Avenue when the suspect came to his window. Reyfman was asked to pull up so that the other driver could fit his car into a spot, but Reyfman explained that there was a truck ahead of him that was unloading, and he didn’t want to get too close to it.

The suspect then disappeared into a nearby bodega, but when he came out he went straight to his car, got a knife, and plunged it twice into Reyfman’s chest. The victim was taken to Lutheran Hospital and will survive the attack.

“If he was any thinner, the punctures would have killed him,” a source told the Daily News. “There was a lot of blood in the car.”

The suspect is described as 40 years old, about 5-feet-11 and around 250 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).

    I hope the suspect gets caught and brought to justice!

    When NYPD has to meet their quota they are all over Brighton giving out parking tickets, but when something like this happens they are not anywhere around.

    For some people, parking is more important than a life. But, I did see many cars try to take up two spaces. Some don’t want no one to park too close. Some want to save a spot for another car. They used to have ONE meter fro ONE car. But, now they have the print out paper meter and you don’t really know when your spot starts and ends.
    If the knife is UNDER 6 inches, you have different charges. Usually 3-6 inch life may not kill. The longer and sharper the knife, the more damage it may happen.
    Did anyone else herd about the 6 inch rule of a knife?

    Did I say anything wrong in America with freedom of speech?

    sorry if I offended anyone by saying what i feel from the heart with no hate and ONLY LOVE.

    I think the person who did the stabbing should go to jail ASAP.
    Saw people go for 7 years and get out in 3
    Saw people who had GREAT (money and connection) lawyers walk away.

    Doesn’t matter if the knife is 1 inch or 7 inch.
    The law with the 6 inch should be changed ( if the law is still on the books )
    The difference was the intention to kill (longer than 6 inch) -vs- injure (under 6 inch) a person.. The lawyers tried to lower the charges because the claim was the the stabber did not want to kill.

    Sorry if this is forum for a private club and freedom of speech is not allowed…
    (did not say nothing but the truth and/or my opinion)

    What is this world coming to if people do all this over a parking space.
    By 2020, we will have more cars and more people and less parking spaces. What will happen in 2020? 2030? 2040? and etc

    THEIR IS NOT SUCH THING AS SEPERATE CHARGES FOR THE SIZE OF A KNIFE. ITS AN OLD BS RUMOR. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT WITH A KNIFE OF ANY SIZE YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF A CONCEALED WEAPON- KNIFE. THE ONLY REASON YOU WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT CHARGE IS IF IT IS A BUTTERFLY KNIFE, GRAVITY KNIFE, SPRING LOADED KNIFE, ETC..
