I’m the lovely red shopping cart just kidnapped from the Staples Office Super Store on the corner of Avenue Y and Ocean Avenue. But, who’s going to be looking for or at me in this post?

Someone stuck this cutie pie baby into me and rolled us over to the brand new P.S. 254 playground. Talk about getting overshadowed. Will anyone notice my lovely red paint or will they just see his baby soft skin? Why do I even ask?

I love what they've done with the school playgrounds. Only, when i was a gradeschooler, we were let out during lunch, Im not sure that happens anymore. At least not at my children's school, I wonder why.

Wow on the road again this cart went all the way to Manhattan Beach that's a hike also. For that baby it must have been a bumpy ride all through the streets. The ? is will they take that cart back to it's home lol

Correction that is PS 254 playground not Manhattan Beach
    Sorry about that

Doesn't look anything like the playground did before reconstruction.

From a legal point of view there's no issue.

In Britain, the law is different now But it does not specifically prohibit photographing children in in public..However, local laws might exist that supersede British federal law. But expectations of privacy in a public place do not exist the US.

One of my favorite memories of lunchtime was looking around for the monitors to make sure they were watching the other way so we could sneak through a hole in the fence, walk around the perimeter of the building, and come out another hole in the fence, cross the street and buy raspberry lollypops from the candy store across the street. Then we would give each other conspiratorial glances in class as we sat and enjoyed our candy. Oh, what a lawsuit that would be today!

100% correct before it was a mess. Now it's neat and clean lets hope the neighborhood keeps it that way.

I asked the two adults who were there with the cutie and they agreed. They have my email address and this URL, in case there is any problem. Unfortunately, there is no signed document to prove this. This was in a public place, anyway.

Barbequed puppies? Oh, man, leave it up to brooklynq!

Lots of useless space there before. A sandbox with no sand, a gated off weeded area.

Some of the school park reconstructions overdid work that was less than 10 years old. But there must have been some federal money that had to be spent.

Originally a lot of the schools had gardens. Somewhere along the line they stopped being tended. That's a pity, children should learn about gardening. The garden at PS 209 was maintained by students in the early 60s but if my memory is correct it started getting before I even left there.

Why not? Dog is eaten in many parts of the world. I can't do it here, but I'd try it. Guinea Pig anyone?

  22. Lisanne!on 31 Jul 2010 at 12:47 am

You'd need 30 for a decent meal for 4. And I suspect they're mostly made of air.

    OTOH, people have eaten squirrels.

Little known law: Babies found in public become public property.

  24. Ned Berkeon 31 Jul 2010 at 8:05 pm

30 guinea pigs for 4 people? Heck no. One is very filling. Sometimes two people split one. They're very good, and have more meat than you think. I like them fried whole – they look so happy. I have photos of one I ate, but I can't find them right now. If it turns up, I'll post it here for you.

  25. Lisanne!on 31 Jul 2010 at 11:56 pm

OH, so you fatten them up for a long time. Most people aren't that patient. Mine never got so they couldn't run away. That's why people buy cages. They'll have you believe that they're cute pets. But we know better.
