• Sheepshead Bay, meet Adagio Furniture, a new high-end retailer at 2605 Avenue U. Adagio opened just a few weeks ago, and offers imported furniture from European manufacturers. The location was previously Via Furniture, a budget shop that sold everything from bedroom sets to office desks. The vertically hanging furniture sign is all that remains of Via.

what they and most furniture stores sell are european designs. i have been in factories near the navy yard that sell to most stores in ny. Made In The USA.

Why do we need all this european stuff? This is still America.

you want america you are going to have to move about 1,000-1,500 miles to the left.

I have to agree with that. The rich immigrants have certainly taken over and the Euro-trash tackiness along with it. The houses they build around here look like some European Parliament Buildings. They're so huge that they need to put a ton of furniture inside of it. We all know how much furniture gets thrown out by these people every week clogging the curbs.

That's a great photo Ned. It's so crisp, and the colors are just right.

You must have a magical monitor. Because I thought that was a terrible photo, but it was the best I could do at the time.

I would have angled it differently. The rest looks great to me.

I guess we are the most critical judges of our own work, because we know what WE wanted to accomplish.

That's where I went! And although I'll be honest, I didn't check the tags, when my new sectional was delivered, I got tags on it that said it was made in America. When people ask if I miss Brooklyn, I say I miss Brooklyn of years ago (although I miss the food). I say that Dubuque now feels like Brooklyn used to feel, to me, when I really was crazy about it (born and raised there).

Now, I do like some European stuff…I won't lie about that. ;)

Oh no, this is America too. But things change and people often can't adapt. Eventually all of us get nostalgic for a past that was no better than the present, just more comfortable to us.

Yuck! Look at the awful paint job on the sign. Great Capture Ned! Tis a pity we can't leave notes on it like they do over on flickr.
I'm amazed they have furniture made in the USA. I didn't think that was done anymore. There's hope?

It's such an unimpressive looking storefront though. You would think a store selling high end furniture would present itself better.

Paint job? The sign isn't painted, it's fabric.

Good luck with the euro brand furniture sales. I have a distinct taste for imported furniture. Maybe I will come check it out.

just visited the store – great selection of European furniture…great looking stuff with good quality. Sales people are really helpful and knowledgeable, AND actually speak English :)) Turns out they also have American made furniture as well. Although the color of some walls could have a better taste to them.

I just bought my living room and bedroom at this place and the quality is superb. I've never had customer service like this before. Very professional.

      Very bad quality product .
I purchased a bedroom set from them by ESF furniture.I would not recommended to anybody this store. absolutely worst customer service, as you get the product they take you money and forget about you.
This store is really small, about the same size of my living room maybe they will be better selling shoes there. Nothing on display all in catalogs or online, They don’t even know what kind of product they have been selling.
Don’t waste your time and go somewhere else.
