Not only is Brooklyn home to the world’s best pizza and bagels, it’s also home to two legendary institutions of roast beef. These prodigious restaurants happen to both be in Sheepshead Bay. I don’t even need to name them, but for the sake of the record, I’m talking about Roll-N-Roaster and Brennan & Carr.

Last night, Brennan & Carr called out Roll-N-Roaster on their Facebook page.

“There is a new show on the Travel Channel called Food Wars. Who thinks that Brennan & Carr would beat Roll’N'Roaster in a best roast beef in New York competition?” they wrote.

Woah! Them’s fightin’ words! So what do you think Sheepshead Bay? Who’s got the beef?

Definitely agree with Mike. Roll N Roaster has great cheez fries and cheez burgers. But when I want roast beef, it's Brennan and Carr all the way!

I think they are only comparing roast beef, not cheese fries, but I gotta say I love those Roll n Roaster cheese fries.

Oh, I realize that we are talking roast beef. That was my point – only place I go for roast beef is Brennan and Carr.

I just told the RollnRoaster page that B&C called them an overpriced Mickey D's and asked them if they were gonna take that.

I mean seriously… we need some Jamokes from Hayseed Iowayyy or Worse…. Chelsea or Soho… who think pizza is a Ritz cracker with friggin American cheese and Ketchup to come down here and tell us whats the best?!??!!?!

I know this is supposed to be about roast beef but what about the wings @ R&R? That hot sauce always clears your sinuses!!!

Brennan and Carr has the best roast beef sandwich anywhere! Nuff said! Roll and Roaster cannot compete.

Hands down, there is nothing better than a Brennan & Carr Hot Beef with Cheese with the bread single dipped.

Makes me wish I still lived in Brooklyn.

John's Deli is by far the best roast beef sandwich in Brooklyn..they have better gravy better meat better rolls..however roll n roaster is better then BCarr their wet broth makes the sandwich sloppy and gross took two bites and threw it out and I was very hungry

  13. Arthur Borkoon 18 May 2010 at 9:43 pm

But, John's Deli is not in Sheepshead is it.

I agree – get your sandwich double dipped at RNR and it's like a gravy. The broth thing is just… not my thing.

I eat both and love them both. But not only do I like the vibe better at Roll-N-Roaster, I dont think you can beat thier roast beef, cheese, and sauted onions. That said, Sheepsead Bay is lucky to have either, let alone both.
