Kind of sad. By the time they gather the toys Christmas will be a memory for the kids who would be getting them. And how does one explain Santa’s delay to a five year old?

Hey, we’re New Yorkers. Would we let a little blizzard stop us?

    Oh well, its been decided.

Yes, it is kind of sad. The performers are not local and traveling is dangerous.
People, I’m sorry to say would most likely not show if it is nasty out.
I hope the facilities these children are in have some thing scheduled for the holidays.
The gifts that will be given late to them will be an extra surprise for the new year.
Still more time for those who wish to donate.
If you have a child who gets a toy for Christmas that he or she already has please bring it January 3rd. :-D

    …which begs the questions:
Why doesn’t the concert feature some local performers?
    and
Who are these local needy children and are they invited to the concert?

The performers that are doing this have been doing it for years. At least one originates from Sheepshead Bay.

If I recall right they are coming from Jersey and Long Island.

I don’t recall seeing many children there. Most people in their 50s and upward.

They have arrangement with several agencies for distribution. I assume that these agencies get their toys from multiple sources.

Apologies for the terrible proofreadng above. I’m rather exhausted from shoveling snow. I ALWAYS get stuck with that job.

Any local volunteers to help out January 3?

What type of help do they need? I’ve been to this event, but I’m not that familiar with who does what at BIG.
