“We are a complex maze, a repetitive cycle of arguments and affections, and we, ultimately, are all the same. Even if we are all different” – I think this really conveys it well because as Bivas shows in his work, art doesn't have borders and artists don't need passports. I missed this show but hope to catch up.

Being a resident of Calcutta, the city that Chaudhuri hails from, I’m exposed to his works for a long time. What strikes me most about his paintings is his penchant for assimilating ideas from the east and west. His deep thinking about geometric forms, and the beauty that emerges when one defies them in playful ways is a treat to watch. I think contemporary Indian painters have a thing or two to learn from him.
