This is why it gets dredged every decade or so (we're due for another one). Additionally, you should check out the next Plumb Beach cleanup, and be a part of the effort to make it a better place. Every Mayor of this City (including Bloomberg) promised to do something about the place during election campaigns, but nothing has been done. This is a shame as there is a lot of recreational and ecological potential to the area.
