a good neighbor: yep, that's right. Exit 9.5

Andy: Plumb Beach is in definite need of stronger enforcement (part of the problem is that it's a headache inducing mess of jurisdictions). However, I do think it's better than it was when I was a kid. A bigger threat to the area is environmental - erosion is happening in such a way that it wont even be there in a few years. This is why it gets dredged every decade or so (we're due for another one). Additionally, you should check out the next Plumb Beach cleanup, and be a part of the effort to make it a better place. We can't rely on our politicians for everything.

That place is a disgrace to the City and the neighborhood: used syringes, all kinds of trash, homeless people in their cardboard homes. Every Mayor of this City (including Bloomberg) promised to do something about the place during election campaigns, but nothing has been done. This is a shame as there is a lot of recreational and ecological potential to the area.

Beautiful pic! I remember Plumb Beach from when I was a kid in Brooklyn. The beach had the finest collection of bottles, tires, trash and car parts available, lol.
