22-Year-Old in Critical After Nostrand Accident

The woman struck on Nostrand Avenue and Avenue Z on Thursday is in critical condition. The driver – an ex-con with convictions for drugs and driving without a license – is awaiting arraignment for charges of vehicular assault, drunken driving, and reckless driving.

A drunken ex-con three times over the legal limit mowed down a Brooklyn woman walking home from work – leaving her with horrendous injuries, sources said Friday.

Olga Skibina, 22, was headed to her Gerritsen Beach home when a wasted Zachary Kitt barreled his 1997 Ford van into her Thursday evening, police said.

She was in critical condition at Lutheran Medical Center Friday with severe brain, facial and lung injuries.

“We’re hoping it’s not going to get any worse,” said the victim’s stepfather, Alex Litvachkis, 44.

    Hope she will recover fully.

    That mofo needs to be fed to lions and crapped out before being flushed down the toilet. The laws here are not strict enough against people with past DWI.
    They should have their licenses and cars removed from them on the first offense.

    I think cars with drugs are up for grabs. So should be cars involved with alcohol.

    Disgusting… I hope this guy has a lot of time in jail to think about the error of his ways. What the hell was this guy doing driving around drunk during rush hour time.. its bad enough when its done late at night but at least there arent as many people walking around then.

    Was sorry to see that she was hurt as bad as she was. Hopefully she’ll recover fully.

    …and sadly speaking from past DWI incidents that are publicizied, the a-hole will probably get away with a few hours of community service becuase his judgment is considered to be impaired at the moment since he is buzzed and he did not mow down the girl on purpose…sigh…
