Robbery, Hostages at Staples on C.I. Ave.

We’ve received word that an armed robbery occurred at the Staples at 1880 Coney Island Avenue (between Avenue O and Avenue P). Hostages were held for a short period. The robbery happened around 11 a.m. and, to our knowledge, has so far been resolved without anyone being harmed. We have no further information at this time.

  • I suppose that someone thinks they're making a killing with the big ticket items like computers and cameras. But I would think that 11:00 in the morning is a little too early for attempting this. OTOH, many of their stores open at 7AM.

    that CI Staples store has always been seeing weird things there, so very few random times i have shopped or just browsed around, there are always ppl(employees or security guards) chasing shoplifters and wrestling at the front door and fights over stolen erasers and highlighters.
