Dog Days of Summer

Dogs Can Drive Cars Too!

Reader Arthur Borko spotted this pooch at the peddle outside the 7/11 on Nostrand Avenue and Avenue Y. Now, before all the animal activists freak out about a dog being left in a car with the windows rolled up during the summer, Arthur points out that the person went inside for no longer than five minutes. Otherwise this would be a different post altogether.

Even five minutes is too long to leave a dog in a locked car in this heat!

Agreed though this was taken thurs or friday (can’t remember) and for that 5 minutes the car would have actually been cooler then outside because of latent air conditioning. If I though the pooch was suffering or uncomfortable in anyway I’d have sailed 911 or 311 or something. However as I got into my car and started to munch on my Burger Bigbite the dogs passenger came out and they drove off. I wonder where the dog got his license?

Arthur, I’m glad you were looking out for the well-being of this adorable dog. I would hope the majority of people would do the same. Even though this particular dog wasn’t in serious danger, I still get so nervous when I see pets locked in cars during hot weather. Accidents can still happen whether it’s 5 minutes or more.

That dog looks quite confident behind the wheel. I’d sleep in the back seat unafraid, it’s quite obvious that here’s a flawless driver.

Looks like the window is slightly opened.

The biggest crime here is that the dog drives a nicer vehicle than me.
