I dont know if most know this but the people who own the building gave a master lease to 1 guy that has been sub leasing it to all these tenants so its really not the owner but the guy who has the master lease on this property

Well, I don't think Ray was implying that Cherry Hill should clean it up - just that it would've been nice. But I'll let Ray speak for herself. As for the rest of the things said here - I totally agree that the landlord ought to be on this. In my opinion, I believe the landlord has been totally negligent of the building, and has completely mismanaged it -- especially what was once the mini-mall section. I think his tenants AND the community should be leaning on him to better care for and utilize his property.

Actually I'm surprised to hear that that other side of the building is still in business. I've wondered by many a times thinking that it is so run down, that Japanese restaurant had to be closed.

I would assume that awnings, stucco and paint are the responsibility of the landlord, not the tenant, but from the looks of it, I would question the cleanliness of the restaurant behind those walls.

If I was the tenant, I'd be on the land lord's back to clean it up. It's costing them money and business.

Should Cherry Hill have fixed up the entire exterior of the building - absolutely not. They have enough trouble trying to finish their "Restaurant" Let them finish converting their market to the "Restaurant" and then talk to them about being a good neighbor.
Tim is right these people came in trying to bring something good to this area and they get attacked for it. it cost money to clean besides why would they so someone can come in and say they did something wrong. when you take responsibility for something thats not yours it usually (sheepshead) bites you. as far as giving back to the community let them get the business fully up and running first then after this whole mess cools down i think they will be a big part of this community.

You're being a little harsh on Cherry Hill, aren't you? I mean, they already rehabilitated their part of the building which was the management company's responsibility - now they have to fix the parts of buildings controlled by OTHER tenants? C'mon....

The blame goes on Lundy's Management. And by the way, where are all the elected officials coming out for a photo op on the other properties? How about decrying the landmark violations on the other side, like the neon signs?

It just goes to show you, politicians around here are more about perception and photo ops than fighting for what's right.

I was merely pointing out a few things:
-CH says they're interested in doing something for the community;
-the awnings are dirty and the facade could use a little cleaning;
-they had the restoration team working on their side, so, it might have been convenient for them to work on the other side before they packed up the cleaning fluid and sealed up the paint cans;
-as a good will gesture, might have been nice to help improve relations;
-might have even gotten the current tenants involved, as well as the management company -- since, there's nothing nicer than a team effort to help preserve a landmark;
-doesn't it look odd to have one side new and the other the opposite?

I wish I knew what portion of those observations was "a little harsh".

Ned Berke stated it best on 06.06.09 " The Internet is a wonderful thing". Don't expect to find out what's happening online from our community board members or our State Senator. Sheepshead Bites and Gerritson Beach websites are on top of what's happening in our community.
Why would Cherry Hill Management clean and renovate the entire Lundy's building when they were attacked by the people who represent us? They did clean up the entire muddy lake parking lot. At the first Press Conference, our representatives raised a issue about the new sidewalk and stucco. While on the other end of the building the sidewalk is broken, missing and mud. There is one place where a huge part of the stucco is completely gone from the wall. I just still don't understand why they would be against the Cherry Hill Market.
I would suggest from our leaders. First, reply to this website with why they are so motivated against the Cherry Hill Market. Second, how do they plan to bring the West End of the Lundy's building up to speed with the Cherry Hill Market level
