Thanks for jogging my memory. Now that I think of it, I do remember an Ave I Flea Market or some such entity advertised "on the telly" and even visited the place a couple of times to check out the rage about the jeans for sale. Those markets are now long gone and now at McDonald's and Ave I stands an Amazing Savings Store and a ShopRite (see links below)!

Nice of you to stop in from Australia (or Britain) ;-)!
If you're ever on Facebook, I've heard there's a group called the "Who Remembers The Avenue I Flea Market?" you can join.

Amazing Savings:
ShopRite - supposedly has a great chocolate layer cake
As per usual, this blog has given me a memory jog, of sorts. It's been decades since I lived in Sheepshead Bay and I definitely don't recall any outdoor flea markets. However, I do recall some indoor ones. Forgive me if my dusty memory is off base but wasn't there a Glenwood Flea Market? Glenwood Ave perhaps? I left Brooklyn before driving age so I don't remember whereabouts that would be. There was a bigger one that used to be advertised on the telly. I believe it was called Ave I Flea Market or McDonald Flea Market. Indoors, local vendors, cool stuff etc. I distinctly remember in one corner, one vendor having big wooden barrels filled with pickles and olives and stuff like that. It was like an old world delicatessen. Well, gotta catch the subway back to modern reality now. Thanks for shaking loose that memory dust, Ray.
