There’s another fair on Emmons Avenue alongside BayFest: the annual Lena Cymbrowitz Community Health Fair.

Sponsored by Assemblyman Cymbrowitz, the Sixth Annual Lena Cymbrowitz Community Health Fair, which will be held on Emmons Avenue from Sheepshead Bay Road to Ocean Avenue, includes free health screenings, health information, NYU’s Smiling Faces Dental Van and free give-a-ways. It is co-sponsored by Maimonides Medical Center, Health Plus, Beth Israel, Courier Life Publications and Kiwanis International. The May 17 event kicks off at 11:30 am and lasts until 2:30 pm.

In addition to all that “fun” medical stuff, there’s some cool stuff for kids and family. Children can explore a functioning ambulance and will be entertained with magic, a clown, face painting and caricaturists. Local schools are scheduled to perform and there will be live music plus a DJ to keep things lively.

For additional information, call Assemblyman Cymbrowitz’ office at (718) 743-4078. In case of rain the fair will be held in Bay Academy, 1401 Emmons Avenue.
