Coney Island: A Shooting & A Pedestrian is Struck

Yesterday, in Coney Island there were two recorded police incidents.

The 60 Precinct responded to a shooting at 3208 Mermaid Ave at West 32 St and the person was rushed to Lutheran Hospital after 2 shots to the abdomen. The incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. and the victim is not expected to survive.

Earlier in the day at 4:46 p.m., a pedestrian was struck near Mermaid Ave at 2930 West 30 St.

    There was a mobile security tower setup on W25 ST and Mermaid Ave. for several weeks. For unknown reasons, the NYPD removed the tower a day or two before this incident occurred, also on Mermaid Ave.

    Now the security tower is back, but it’s too late for the victim of this crime.
