Yowzers! This hydrant on Ford Street and Avenue Z has been broken and flooding the street for a whopping 8 days! A resident sent in these photos, adding “Firefighters, DEP and sanitation have tried to close it but apparently its broken. It is SUCH a waste of water.” He also points out, and which is evident in the photos, that “residents have attached makeshift hoses so that their planters and sidewalks aren’t damaged.” Does anyone have any advice for this guy and his neighbors?

Weird! That’s my block and, I swear, I didn’t even notice a thing.

Perhaps calling 311 and placing a complaint every day until the hydrant is fixed would help. “Its broken” is not a valid excuse just to leave it… i’m sure its possible for somebody to fix it.

Dana’s right – you can also call CB15 or your councilman and theyy should be able to expedite repairs as well.
